We would like to do so much for Joomla! in Southern Africa, but are
normally constrained by limitations - time and money. So we have come
up with a few rather ingenious ways to share your money with the
community at large, by offering banner advertising on the portal.
The very affordable cost is R500 per month (minimum of three months), to allow
space for everyone to have a chance at being listed on South Africa's
top ranked (currently 1st and 2nd for "joomla" in South Africa and the first country portal Joomla site internationally, and the only one on the first page!

Well, what can we say... but Joomla! is alive, well and prospering in South Africa.
The Johannesburg event in the Joomla!Day South Africa series was well attended by about 50 individuals, some new to the Joomla! CMS, others well versed in the open source content management system.
On arrival each delegate was presented with a package containing a CD filled with Joomla CMS extensions, core package files, manuals and other resources - all of the GPL stuff collected to date, an Ubuntu CD, some presentation notes and a freshly finalised programme for the day, which offered some all inclusive sessions and some split sessions to cater for elementary and advanced users.
Represented at the event were users from Pretoria, Johannesburg, Durban, Cape Town and Empangeni. One delegate from Bloemfontein arrived later in the day.

First South African Joomla! Day
By Staff Writer
21 May, 2007
For
the first time in South Africa all those who are in some way involved
with Joomla! will get together to share ideas and experiences with the
open source content management system. The day aims at allowing all
Cape Town Joomla! users, designers, developers, administrators, trainers, webhosts and other related service providers to meet and talk Joomla!
The event will take place at Cape Town's Bandwidth Barn (125 Buitengracht Street, see map) on June 16 from 9am to 4pm.
The organisers hope that this will be the first of many across the country as Southern Africans discover Joomla!.
The event is practically free, but seating is limited to only 40 attendees. Register on www.joomla.org.za, or email Joomla! Support for more information and to book a seat.
There will also be a commercial Joomla! Users Training Courses on the
afternoons of the 14th and 15th of June, and a Joomla Administrators / Developers Training Course on the 18th of June, for those who want to learn
how to develop websites using Joomla!.
The organisers can be contacted on the following numbers:
Slingshot: 084-704-9614
Raramuridesign: 084-528-2020

Firstly, let me offer what may be a belated but a heartfelt welcome to you!
Depending
on when you registered for the Free Joomla Training Courses, you may have
forgotten about this site already, since this may be the first that you
have heard from us however we have just woken up to the fact that there
are so many Joomla Users, Administrators & Developers registered in the courses.
