I have been working with Open Source Software (OSS) for a number of years, having mastered a number of different applications, such as Mambo, Joomla, Moodle and osCommerce, amongst others.
While a technical staff at the University of Zululand, I tutored students in website computing modules, which enables them to develop and manage websites using one of these systems.
As the Moodle webmaster at UZ, which in the pilot phase of implementation, I am currently engaged in a research project, with colleagues looking at the use of OSS in higher education.

With my team of website developers and assistants, we also offer website management and marketing services for those who do not have the time nor the inclination to take a hands on approach.
Most recently we founded the Joomla SA Portal, started the Learn Joomla initiative and pioneered some Joomla!Day events locally.
Next is some Moodle based advocacy that we have identified as neccessary in South Africa, starting with the Moodle SA Portal. |
